Create your own sundae bar:
1. Pick a colour theme. Use varying shades of the main colour for some added interest.
2. If you don't have an interesting surface space throw a table cloth over a plain table that matches your colour theme (you can rent these for less than $10). Cool table options could be: a interesting wood table, a picnic table, old dresser or a large wooden wagon if you're lucky enough to have access to one!
DIY Paper Bunting
What you'll need:- coloured and printed paper
- fishing line
- hot glue gun
- scisssors
Cut your paper into the size of triangle desired (here I used 8.5"x 9.5"x 9.5").
Lying your fishing string on top of your triangles, fold over a half inch of the top of your triangle. Secure down with hot glue and repeat until you get a long enough banner.
*I had paper bowls for the sundaes but wanted to add another option so I threw in the cones too
5. Have a selection of toppings and add a few in your colour theme. I made the chocolate swirls by using a chocolate mold and filling it with melted chocolate wafers.
6. Create labels for your table for a professional look. You can customize them to fit your theme. If you are not graphic design savvy check out Creature Comforts or Eat Drink Chic for a list of their free printables.
(Click here to download these free blank printable labels from Creature Comforts. I added my words, printed them out and glued them to mini popsicle sticks.)
7. Search around online for fun partyware that fits in with your theme. I found these blue mini spoons and paper bowls over on Fort & Field which is a shop full of cool party add ons!

looks great, one of my fav tables that you've done!
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable Renee! You did a fabulous sundae bar :) Have you seen those really adorable ice cream cooler at Homesense lately? Those would be useful for a party to avoid all the ice cream melting....what other ways would you keep the ice cream from melting during a party?

@Realtyqueento - thanks!
ReplyDelete@how2home - I have seen those and I'm in love with them! They're perfect for drinks at a BBQ too! We just put our ice cream in a steel bin and filled it with ice. Luckily the ice cream gets eaten quickly!
