Dabble Magazine

My friend Alex and I attended the Dabble Magazine launch party last week. Can you tell we had a good time?

Dabble is a bi-monthly magazine that focuses on design, travel and food. Editor in Chief Kimberley Seldon created Dabble to bring together all of her passions. Click here to check out the first issue!

Current Obsession: Vintage Suitcases

I'm really digging vintage suitcases. I love that there's a different history behind each one. Not only do they look great as part of the decor in the home but they serve as extra storage too. I really need to hit up the antique markets soon because my list is starting to get long!

Cool Shit: Recycled Wood Ideas

I'm a huge fan of recycled wood so when I came across these images from Marie Claire Maison, I knew I had to share. Aren't these ideas gorgeous? Love love love.

Styling Tip: Neons

Don't be afraid to try out spring's hot neon colours. Give these bright colours a fresh look by pairing them with soft neutrals such as grey or tan. It'll help pull your look out of the 80's and into the current season. And it'll help you avoid looking like Rainbow Bright!

DIY: Geometric Pendant

I LOVE this DIY geometric pendant that Dismount Creative made using clay. Click here for the full instructions.

Crush: Quoise

I'm completely smitten with Quoise Jewelry. I especially love their collection of studs and rings. They make each piece in Toronto using 18 karat gold filled and gold plated materials along with upcycled vintage buttons, semi precious stones and natural stones. I'm in need of some rings and who doesn't need studs?! I'll be adding a few Quoise pieces to my jewelry collection very soon!

{print by Mary Kate McDevitt}

This print sums up my weekend perfectly. I've been working on some projects for my new apartment and I love the way everything is turning out. It's starting to feel like home and I'm starting to feel like me again!

Hope you're weekend was fab!!

PS. Big thanks to ELLE Decor for asking me to participate in their weekly finds column on Friday!

Wish List: Cool Chandelier

I love cool lighting but usually the ones I have my eye on tend to be quite expensive. I came across these beauties from Leitmotiv on HomeSav and they're up to 40% off right now with free shipping! The way HomeSav works is that they release new sales daily but each piece is of limited quantity and on sale for a limited time (usually between 24 and 96 hours).

I would love to hang a cool chandelier right above the area where you first step into my new apartment which also is the main living area. So my dilemma: Do I wait for the perfect vintage chandelier (which can take months of looking and who knows how much it will cost) or do I purchase one of these? Help! Ps. I only have 2 days to decide before this sale ends.

Treat: Magnum Ice Cream Bars

Ever since these babies showed up in my inbox last week, I've been having a serious craving for ice cream. Magnum is straight from the UK and features vanilla bean ice cream covered in a chocolate coating and topped with either almonds, caramel or Belgium white chocolate. These are the ultimate indulgence!

House Tour: Barcelona Loft

This loft is perfection. It's basically everything I've ever wanted in a home. I love the raw elements, the old character and the cool design features. It's a huge loft but it still feels warm and homey which is a challenge in an industrial space. I would live here in a heartbeat (and the fact that it's in Barcelona sure doesn't hurt)!

Cool Shit: Pallet Coasters

I'm totally digging these pallet coasters by Labyrinth.

Current Obsession: Floppy Hats

I'm tad bit fixated on floppy hats right now. They're the perfect addition to any outfit and after seeing all the options available, I want one of each kind. But if I had to pick just one (and wallet says I do have to pick just one) it would be a felted camel hat. It would be perfect with denim, maxi skirts, cut off shorts, rompers and of course my cute summer frocks!

Inspiration 3.22.11

I love the styling in this photo shoot by Nasty Gal. It's edgy but with a fun vibe and a touch of girliness. I'm so ready for the warm weather to arrive so I can finally start wearing my spring duds!

Weekly Crush: Avril Loreti

I first was introduced to Avril Loreti's work last year after a browse through Shopgirl's on Queen West. I love the quirky vibe of her collection of handkerchiefs, cocktail napkins, cocktail napkins, totes and coasters. I was able to meet Avril in person at the One of a Kind Show last fall and it was great to see the person behind these fun creations!

Recent Project: mini mioche Spring Window

I hope you all had a great weekend! My weekend was mostly spent catching up on some work and doing my dreaded taxes. I got to hang out with the fab book club girls yesterday and we spent more time catching up than talking about our recent book but it was a great time!

Here are some pictures of the mini mioche window that I did a few weeks ago. Since mini mioche uses Pantone colours in each of their collections, I decided to use Pantone as my theme for the spring window. It was really difficult to get a good shot but hopefully you get the idea!

Off The Map

Off the Map did a feature on me in their new spring issue (I'm big time blushing). It was my first photoshoot being in front of the camera and it was both terrifying and exciting! Click here for the full interview and for more photos (page 87).

Thanks OTM!

Weekly Crush: Bangs & Blush

I finally got my ass to Clinton's on Saturday night for Shake, Rattle & Roll and let me tell you it was a gooood time. The female deejay duo Bangs & Blush kept my girlfriends and I on the dance floor until the early AM. Brittney Townson and Lindsay Darling make up this rad duo and you can join them every Friday and Saturday night at Clinton's. Shake, Rattle & Roll is a night of 60's Motown and rock & roll which means hello Aretha, Beatles, Otis Redding and so many more of our oldie favs. The Bangs & Blush girls know how to throw a serious party. One glance at the DJ booth seeing these girls grooving and shaking their thang, is all you need to get you in the party mood and onto the dance floor!

Happy Monday!
